Montezuma Castle, AZ (6) Montezuma Castle isn't a castle and has nothing to do with Montezuma. The five-level cliff dwelling in a limestone alcove above Beaver Creek, near Camp Verde, AZ was home to the Sinagua people more than 600 years ago. The ruins are located about 90 miles north of Phoenix.
